Beer Review: River Ale from Deschutes Brewery
So despite my affinity for IPAs, I am not much of a generic Ale guy. A good Pale Ale on a good day will hit the spot. But most of the time I'd rather just hope over and enjoy a specialty lager or go full wheat. By style alone, River Ale from Deschutes is without a doubt my least favorite beer from them. But how does it taste?
Look: 'm colorblind but it looks Orange to me. Very bubbly. Nothing special but definitely inviting.
Smell: Malts. Clean and fresh malty-ness. There isn't much depth but it is a nice sniff.
Taste: From the start carbonation seems to be on the tip of the tongue. I'm not a fan of the long dry finish. Especially since this has a low IBU. There is zero sweetness. Just a dry front to back beer.
Thoughts: Real just a straight forward good ale. If that's your thing then this is your beer. I'm not a fan but that's no condemnation here.
