I won’t regret anything at all
if the only world we see is
outside the windows of our minivan
They say that you should seek to make a profession out of the things you would do even if no one was listening/reading/buying/paying attention. Hmm. Here I am talking about music again.
You see, I like oldies. I cut my musical teeth on the hits from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. In our home my parents preferred Easy Listening, but my friends listened to Top 40. Needless to say, I learned to appreciate a wide variety from both sides.
Despite my lack of a musical background (even the humble harmonica eludes my mastery), I do love, need, and crave music. I also love sharing it with people.
A faithful child of the Reformation would answer Ramirez with "Christ is in the word and sacraments."
I would argue that a trustworthy artist puts thought and care into their tracklisting, so give it the respect due.
Pairs well with whiskey. Pairs well with grilled meats and dancing. Pairs well with exhausted contemplation as you watch guests leave.
The question is not about whether our best athletes are being drawn to other sports, the question is whether American children are touching a soccer ball outside of organized practices and games. Unfortunately, in most cases the answer is “no.”
He's the soundtrack when your heart is breaking. This is kind of his whole deal: sad music for sad people.
All too often we believe that externals are not important. Style,
"I am not the Samaritan. I am not the priest or the Levite. I am the ill intent."
"Meaning righteous men have a duty to stand up to evil," Murdock says.
"One interpretation," the priest answers. "Another is, that when the righteous succumb to sin, it is as harmful as if the public well were poisoned."
You could say Star Wars is very dear to my heart. What follows is a collection of random thoughts on Star Wars.
The game should be great to watch so I suggest you take in the last game of the 2014-15 European football calendar on June 6th with some friends at a local pub! I might write a post in the coming weeks about the international soccer that will be played this summer by the both the Men’s and Women’s USA national teams.
When Sinners Say I Do is replete with Scripture and well presented. Though short, the video series highlights the fundamentals of marriage from a Christian perspective within a structure that adapts itself for Sunday School, bible studies, and personal study.
A few years prior to that, some people had trespassed up there, built a dirtbike track, and planted some, um, alternative crops. This town is pretty rural and there's a lot of open space, so you have to assume a great deal of that goes on.
Centralized organizations, whether governments or sports leagues love to "play" god. They like to try to "give" people rights (as though they have that power), they like to try to disperse blessings and curses and they like to try to reconcile groups of people. Yet in every attempt to do this without the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ only further animosity prevails.
I'm here to write about 5 artists/groups, hard-working, hard-touring folks, purveying a brand of genuinely heart-felt music I've been guilty of thinking no longer existed. If it lies within your power to see and hear these musicians, make it happen. If it doesn't, try legal downloads or physical-format purchases from their sites.
