Blessed Are the Hungry: In the Midst of My Enemies

The title led me to think that somehow Psalm 23 was going to work its way into this chapter. But it didn't. In fact it didn't even come close. Instead a full evaluation of the life and preservation of Elijah was in order.

Dr Leithart provided good insight for Elijah as the new Moses. Elijah in many ways was also a personification of the new Israel. But most important in the life of Elijah is God's provision of food. Never the same and never out of surplus The Lord provided for Elijah throughout his turmoil and struggle against Ahab.

The point is well worth retaining. That God sets aside His elect and He provides for them in a world full of "Ahabs". Wicked rulers cannot hinder God's miraculous provisions for His people.
