Blessed Are the Hungry: Feasting in Faith

This chapter spoke volumes to me. It is utterly fascinating how much Abraham's actual life fits with the story of Israel and subsequently with Jesus Christ. It was sobering enough to realize we are in fact Lot. We are the wayward sons who must be won back from the clutches of an evil lord.

What Dr Leithart didn't speak to as much was the amazing significance of the wine and bread being the symbol used. There wasn't just an allusion to the final supper. This was a full celebration of the eucharist with Abraham at the end of his victory. Though Christ celebrates His before His victory on the cross, we know there remains one more marriage supper left to be experienced.
