The Dating of Revelation - Don Preston Review #7

Note: Don Preston is a full preterist and therefore his teaching cannot receive full or blind acceptance. His many videos on YouTube are worthy of listening and interacting with in a timeline manner.

@1:30: I'm not really sure that this is a true statement. I disagree because I'm a little more focused on the breaking of God's covenant relationship with Israel. I'm will to grant it is a prevalent theme but it isn't the theme. This really works to defeat the nature of God's judgment in my opinion.

@4:40: I have to disagree with him on millennium. He is falling back on the English translation. Literally it is "those being beheaded" are reigning. It is in their persecution that the church is found reigning. There is no vindication found in God's judgment. But you can see how Mr Preston is going to get carried away with making the Eternal Judgment in Revelation 20 only about "Martyr Vindication."

I look forward to interacting with Mr Preston in the upcoming videos. I'm excited in seeing some of our disagreements come to fruition.

Morning Musings: A recognition of the dominant theme in Revelation goes a long way in determining when the book was written. And Martyr Vindication is THE dominant, pervasive theme and motif. This becomes definitive proof for the early dating of the Apocalypse. Take a look and pass it on! MM-374
