Hi.

Torrey Gazette is the combined work of everyday Christians blogging on books, family, art, and theology. So pull up a seat and join us. Family Table rules apply. Shouting is totally acceptable.

That He May Be Ashamed

Sometimes I wonder if we really think about what we are reading when we read the New Testament. I think that we have grown really weak in our application of church discipline. Check out what Paul says to the Thessalonians at the end of his second letter to them.

14 If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter, take note of that person, and have nothing to do with him, that he may be ashamed. 15 Do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother. (2 Thess. 3:14-15)

When was the last time time you heard this said on Sunday morning?

Michael
