So I am slowly making my way through Augustine's Confessions. It is a great read and I highly recommend it, especially to the fellas! Every now and then I come across a sentence that is just awesome. Whether it be witty, praiseful, or indicting they are always thought provoking. This passage is definitely more of a witty one!
Why then are you perversely following the leading of your flesh? If you turn away from it, it has to follow you. (ConfessionsIV. xi. (17)
Pretty thoughtful huh? Why should the mind follow the impulses of our flesh? It doesn't have to. But if we decide on going one way with our mind, our flesh must follow.
Most likely more Augustine to come in the following days!
