The Dating of Revelation - Don Preston Review #10

Note: Don Preston is a full preterist and therefore his teaching cannot receive full or blind acceptance. His many videos on YouTube are worthy of listening and interacting with in a timeline manner.

@1:08: We all know that I disagree with him here. Yes it is important. Yes it is crucially important. But no it is not the dominant theme. The dominant theme remains the adulterous Israel and her covenantal unfaithfulness to God. I haven't written extensively to defend this view point but must begin to speak about it to contradict Mr Preston.

@1:50: This is a good point from Mr Preston. Here we will agree against the dispensational or future thought of Israel being the persecuted people. The text itself simply does not support this independent of the time text.

@3:20: What happened to the cute little text screens that kept us from having to look up the Scriptures? Isaiah 2:19-21 is an interesting text. Kenneth Gentry described how the Jews hid themselves in caverns under the city of Jerusalem in a last effort against the Romans. It is certainly a very interesting passage with fulfillment in Revelation 6.

Not much I can disagree with here for Mr Preston. Not sure this is a strong argument for the dating of the book but it provides useful insight into the book of Revelation.
