Matthew 16:27-28 - Don Preston Review #4

27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. 28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.  -  Matthew 16:27-28

Note: Don Preston is a full preterist and therefore his teaching cannot receive full or blind acceptance. His many videos on YouTube are worthy of listening and interacting with in a timeline manner.

@1:25-2:06: This is solid. This I don't have many disagreements with. Jesus is truly speaking of one judgment. As long as we continue to acknowledge another final judgment (a full defense for why at a later date).

@2:07-3:05: Mr Preston again is correct. Many eschatological views are accommodative to this too. Both amillennialism and postmillennialism are able to say that God's promised Messianic Kingdom is currently established in complete fulfillment in Christ reigning through the church. It is only traditional Dispensationalist (I'm unaware of the details for the Progressive Dispy viwe) who will struggle to accept this.

@3:40: This is a great closing point and one that I am glad to over emphasize. The coming in judgment initiates the new full reign of the kingdom. Some Full Preterist will explain that the church age from 30 A.D. to 70 A.D. is the fulfillment of the millennium referred to in Revelation 20. But this is foolish based upon Mr Preston's own argument. Christ is coming into His kingdom and completing the final fulfillment of establishing His reign by bringing judgment on the unfaithful Israel.
