A Real Ale Picture Show

What follows are some of the pictures from our three visits to Real Ale's Taproom in Blanco, Texas. All of these visits have occurred in the last year. This small quantity is in part because of the ridiculous rules from the TABC. Our first visit came in a "detour" to San Antonio for a zoo trip. My wife is a doll and suffered me a detour.

The town of Blanco is one of those wonderful small towns in Texas that you imagine on postcards. The town hall is open to loud visitors. The cafe serves good food and some 10-12 Real Ale beers at any given times (including the ever elusive Mysterium Verum series). Blanco is only a 50-minute drive for us and makes a perfect day-trip (especially to visit the cafe and BBQ joints). It isn't always convenient with the children's nap. But as a family we are growing into it.

We'll be making the drive again this Saturday with family and friends to celebrate Real Ale's 20th Anniversary. But until those photos reveal themselves, enjoy these.

Oh, and here is a video of me slamming down my final pint of Hans Pils before leaving Oktoberfest last year. This beer deserved better but the kids were late on their naps. And it was my birthday.
