An Update on Torrey Gazette

Think of this as a type of state of the union. A lot has been happening in the Torrey Gazette so I'm going to utilize this space to play catch-up and make some announcements.

There have been new jobs. There have been new homes. There has been moving. Basically, there has been a crazy amount of life for everyone at Torrey Gazette behind the scenes. This has included TG related and non-TG related ventures. You guys do know we don't live on the Internet right? The effects of business have been noticeable. Post quantity, hopefully not quality, has been visibly down. I cannot promise this is going to change anytime soon. As it stands, I intend to take all of November and December off from blogging to finish up edits and first drafts for 2016-related projects. But I can promise it won't be this way forever. I will be asking for more guest posts as we proceed down this road. We have friends who write awesome things and I want to get them involved with more frequency.

Behind the scenes, work has been done for multiple TG ventures. The most obvious has been the recent logo change across all TG mediums. There was a hope for a 2015 podcast. That looks like it will become a 2016 goal. The majority of my time has been focused on ebook publications. This was a personal "get something through the whole flow" goal. This is now a reality. "A Lying Spirit" is a revision of recent blog posts on holy deception. It is a defense of godly deception utilized by Christians to subvert unrighteousness. It was inspired by the recent Planned Parenthood controversy, and I hope you find it useful. As with all things TG, we will be making it available for free in ebook form for easier distribution and reading.

All things running smoothly, "The Best of Torrey Gazette Volume 1" and "The Lord's Prayer Family Devotions" will also be released later this year. The latter is a joint venture with Mathew Sims/GraceForSinners to provide family worship materials saturated with historical Reformed thought. This should be available for purchase very shortly and provide a gateway to future family worship devotions for the Sermon on the Mount, Ten Commandments, and Psalm 23.

Know this, we will continue to press on providing regular content. Everything is done for the strict joy of writing. To that end, Torrey Gazette has never contained advertisements. Those are self-defeating to what we want to accomplish here. But that doesn't mean running Torrey Gazette is without its unique costs. We pay for Squarespace hosting services and are interested in adopting paid versions of web tools like Buffer and Canva. In an effort to increase the range of content we can provide, we have established a Pateron Page that allows our readers to support us. We will continue our current tasks and ventures whether we receive support or not. But of course, any and all support will help.

Finally, if you haven't already, please follow us on your social media of choice. We appreciate all the interaction that we receive. With that in mind, thank you to the people that read, comment, and share. We love receiving encouragement. If you think something sucks tell us. We appreciate receiving constructive criticism. Many voices have helped turn Torrey Gazette into a long family dinner table where everyone can yell at each other. With your help, we intend to keep it that way.
