Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, “I have gotten a man with the help of the Lord.” - Genesis 4:1

Literally this text says "the man knew life/Eve". This is the final time that Eve's name will be used in the Scriptures despite the obvious textual parallel to the end of this chapter (Gen 4:25). Typologically it is interesting that the mother of life goes unnamed after the death given to us in this chapter.

There is prophetic significance in the speech of Eve. The name Cain mean "possession" and is a play off the Hebrew word for "gotten" which could be better translated purchased or possessed. This possession that Eve was so desirous for was a seed to fulfill God's promise (Gen 4:25).
