Matthew 16:27-28 - Don Preston Review #34
27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. 28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. - Matthew 16:27-28
Note: Don Preston is a full preterist and therefore his teaching cannot receive full or blind acceptance. His many videos on YouTube are worthy of listening and interacting with in a timeline manner.
@1:40: This is a very good point. Many people are unaware that God "has come" previously. The language is used quite often in the Old Testament and really shouldn't come as a surprise. But the prophets have been sorely neglected in recent church studies.
@4:00: We're coming back to this Matthew -> 2 Peter -> Isaiah argument. I'm excited to get into some of his argument over 2 Peter. I know that Peter Leithart has taught this from an Orthodox perspective and I might have to listen to his teaching also.
@6:00: This is a strong point. This really is not a theological teaching. This is a teaching of how to read our Bible more consistently. This is what makes individuals like Mr Preston very dangerous. This approach to reading the Scriptures is often correct. But full preterists eventually get carried away. I've posted a video by Doug Wilson discussing the "preterist hammer problem". I would recommend everyone re-watch that video.
