Matthew 16:27-28 - Don Preston Review #31
27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. 28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. - Matthew 16:27-28

Oh boy. It looks like we're going back into Deuteronomy.
@2:42: Yes this has been pointed out. But I am still unconvinced that "last days" clearly refers to the time of Jesus. I am not denying the basic preterist principle that the early church and Jesus lived in "the last days" (1 Cor 10:11; Heb 1:2). What I'm denying is that the historical exile of Israel is so insignificant that it can be ignored as a fulfillment of Deuteronomy 32.
@4:16: All of this stuff is good. I am more apt to accept these links because there are no huge covenant/Israel events except the death. burial and resurrection of Christ. I'm not making lite of passion week but I don't believe that Jesus or the book of Revelation were solely talking about that event. So it is pertinent to look to the next big covenantal activity.
@5:34: I will admit that Mr Preston makes some fine links here. But I remain unconvinced that this is conclusive and can be taught so assuredly.
I really do think that Mr Preston is likely right concerning Deuteronomy 32. I just don't like ignoring other parts of Israel's Biblical history.
