Matthew 16:27-28 - Don Preston Review #23
27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. 28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. - Matthew 16:27-28

@2:08: I've always thought this was an interesting story. This is pure speculation but I wonder if it isn't an indication of the respective ages of James and John that their mom came to speak on their behalf. What am I getting at? I wonder how young these "boys" might have been to have their mom talk to Jesus. Pure speculation but I do often perceive both James and John to be teens and younger during their time with Jesus.
@2:48: Glory and kingdom are always linked. The glory of Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of God's plan to grant Him the kingdom (2 Sam 7:12-13; Psalm 2).
@3:48: While I agree with Mr Preston on the whole point, this works as a great example of the simplicity he attempts to lay upon the texts of Scripture. "All references to kingdom are to the same events. All reference to glory are to the same event. And behold they are the same event." This type of logic is simply inconsistent and denies the multiplicity of "the Day of the Lord" found within the Old Testament prophets. This is the major, principal danger to the full preterist view. And it should come as a small comfort that the fallacies are real and quite obvious upon inspection.
