Matthew 16:27-28 - Don Preston Review #18
27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. 28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. - Matthew 16:27-28
Note: Don Preston is a full preterist and therefore his teaching cannot receive full or blind acceptance. His many videos on YouTube are worthy of listening and interacting with in a timeline manner.
What happened to Video 17? It was nothing but an announcement for a book on the subject of the Torah. Nothing useful for interaction.
@1:30: I don't make this objection. And I'm a postmillennialist. And I'm not a full preterist. It is possible to accept what Mr Preston is saying here in this text without accepting all the implications he tries to derive.
@2:56: I enjoy grammatical notes. The Greek is ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you). I agree that there needs to be a grammatical reason to break this apart. All we would need is one example to prove this.
@4:07: I know of no passage of Scripture that refutes his statement. Perhaps someone else does know of a verse but I have been principally in agreement with him on Matthew 16. My concern has always been in the broad and limitless application of this verse to other passages of Scripture.
